Terms of service

What we do

We check whether specific claims made to you by someone you met online are supported by publicly available information. You supply the claims; we assess them and report what we find.

What we do not do

We are not a private investigation firm and do not offer investigative services. Specifically, we do not:

• Determine or disclose the true identity of any person
• Provide home addresses, workplaces, or the current location of any individual
• Access private, restricted, or non-public records
• Contact, message, or interact with the person whose claims we check

Acceptable use

You may use this service only to assess claims made to you personally, in a relationship you are part of. You may not use it to monitor, locate, or gather information about a former partner, someone who has asked you not to contact them, or any person for the purpose of harassment. We refuse and refund requests that appear to fall into these categories, and we may report credible threats to the authorities.

What our reports mean

Our findings describe what public sources showed at the time we checked. A claim we could not confirm is not proof of dishonesty, and a claim that checked out is not a guarantee of good intent. Our reports inform your judgement; they do not replace it. We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of a report.

Refunds

If we cannot check any of the claims you submit, we refund you in full. If we check some but not all, contact us and we will refund proportionately. We do not refund because a report's conclusion was not the one you hoped for.
